The Choice

The Choice

Some people drink Pepsi, some people drink Coke

            It’s all-syrupy poison.

Some people drink Miller Lite, some people drink Bud

It’s all cheap American beer, no good for you in the end.

Some people are vegetarians, who wouldn’t touch a steak with a long stick

            And then there’s us carnivores.

Some people drive Chevys, other prefer Fords.

Does it really matter all that much?

Some people are Christians, some people are Jews, Muslims and all the variants

It all depends on the book that you pray to.

Billions of people on the planet

White ones, Black ones, Brown ones, tan ones and yellow ones and all mixes in-between.

            Young ones, old ones.

Yet we are all humans in the end.

We all have to get along in order to survive. If we don’t, we all perish in the end.

Someone will drop the bomb, if we don’t do it first.

So why can’t we just get along and be accepting of each other. Be nice.

It’s not that hard, really.

Because if we did, we’d be putting a third of the world’s GDP into limbo.

We’d be putting the global military industrial complex to waste and all those soldiers would be out of work.

Wouldn’t that just be a shame?
