Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. ACT. The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Workbook is a great book I’ve been reading and working in. It has a bunch of great strategies and ideas in it. I spent all of the time I was reading it thinking how wonderful it would be if I could get Beth to read it and how something like that just might change her… How fucking frustrating is that? Reading the book to forget about her is making me think of her. Catch-22. I haven’t figured out a way around that one yet. I think that I have decided to send her a link to the book with the comment “just read chapter 2”. Not that she will. I won’t send her the book. I’m not going to spend the money or make it easy for her; she can order her own copy and have some skin in the game. I can just see the response now; “Thanks for the book, I don’t need it.”. Yeah. Some people never learn, and I seem to be one of them. It’s 8/21 now, I figured I’d wait until 9/1 and if I still felt the urge to send it to her I would then. Not doing it spontaneously at least.
